Dr. Mohammed Hail Abdulgalil Khalid Hakimi

Dr. Mohammed Hail is an Associate Professor at the Geology Department, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Taiz University, Yemen where he teaches Historical Geology, Subsurface Geology, Petrophysics, Petroleum Geology, Petroleum Geochemistry, Source rocks Evaluation, Physical Geology (General Geology), Well logging and Formation Evaluation.
Dr. Mohammed Hail graduated with a BSc. (Hons) from Taiz University. He graduated with a MSc from the King Abdulazizi University, Saudi Arabia in 2007, followed by a PhD. from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur in 2011.
In 2001, Dr Mohammed Hail started working as a SLAB tutor at the Taiz University, and was then appointed as a lecturer in 2004. Between 2008 and 2011, he served as a research assistant at the Department of Geology, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur while undertaking his PhD studies. Following that, he was next accepted as a post doctoral research fellow for 1 year. He returned to Taiz University to serve as an assistant professor in 2012, and was appointed to Associate Professor in 2018. Between 2019 and 2020, Dr Mohammed Hail was also a senior research fellow at the University of Malaya.
Dr Mohammed Hail has published almost 200 research papers in the field of Petroleum Geology (petroleum system analysis, basin modelling) and Petroleum Geochemistry (source rock evaluation, thermal maturity assessment, kerogen typing, oil-generating potential of organic-rich sediments & coals & coaly sediments, biomarkers of source rocks and oils, biomarkers). His Google Scholar profile is: 2,713 citations, H-index 31 and i10-index 73 (accessed 7/5/2022).
Dr Mohammed Hail is a member of the Geological Society of Yemen, European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers, Geological Society of Malaysia, European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers and, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
