Abstract: Geochemical studies for igneous rocks was done along the Kulai-Simpang Layang-Layang road, Johor. The areas covered in this study include the Ayer Bemban, Ayer Manis and Bukit Batu areas. The total area of study is about 76.38 km2. The purpose of the geochemical study was to classify and determine the chemical behaviour, correlation and crystallization history of igneous rocks, identify their genesis and origin of magma, and whether they originated from the Central Belt Granite or the Western Belt Granite. The igneous rocks can be divided into five groups, namely the pink granite, pale grey granite and granite with alkali feldspar phenocrysts and two aplite dykes namely dacite and basalt. Result from geochemical analysis show that rocks in the study area is from the calc-alkaline series. All of the igneous rocks in the study area are defined as I-type granite except for the pink granite, which have S-type granite characteristic because of assimilation by the country rock during crystallization. Pale gray granite and pink granite are classified as peraluminous while the granite with alkali feldspar phenocrysts, dacite and basalt are metaluminous rocks. The study reveals that all igneous rocks along the road from Kulai to the junction of Layang-Layang area are I-type granite and considered as part of Central Belt Granite.
