Abstract: The geochemical trends of the rare earth elements (REEs) were employed to reveal the origin and evolution of rocks within the Stong Suite. 19 samples from the four lithodemic units of the suite, namely Berangkat Tonalite, Noring Granite, Noring Microgranite, and Kenerong Leucogranite were analysed. The REEs geochemical trends suggest that the differentiation order is Berangkat Tonalite, Kenerong Leucogranite, Noring Microgranite, and Noring Granite. Based on the LREE and HREE trends, it is suggested that Noring Granite is the partial crystallization product of Noring Microgranite. The normal anomaly Eu of Berangkat Tonalite, Kenerong Leucogranite and Noring Microgranite favour their I-type granitic origin, in contrast to S-type nature of Noring Granite, as shown by its negative Eu anomaly. This study opens a new dimension as the REE geochemical data of Stong Suite has never been published.
