Abstrak: Kawasan kajian terdiri daripada singkapan granit di antara Plaza Tol Sungai Long dan Plaza Tol Bukit Kajang. Pada cerun yang bertentangan dengan simpang ke Taman Goodview Height, terdapat tempat tadahan air yang popular di kalangan orang awam untuk kegunaan domestik di sebabkan rasanya yang sedap. Sebanyak lima buah tiub getah telah dipasang bagi memudahkan orang awam mengambil air. Objektif kajian ini dijalankan adalah untuk menentukan sama
ada satah ketakselanjaran yang mengandungi air mempunyai orientasi tertentu serta menentukan cirian fiziko kimia sampel air di kawasan kajian. Jenis batuan yang tersingkap di sepanjang cerun ialah batuan granit berbutir kasar dan granit biotit berporfiri. Struktur geologi yang dicerap adalah kekar dan sesar. Analisis ketakselanjaran terhadap enam buah cerun (C1– C6) menunjukkan terdapat lima set kekar utama, iaitu J1, J2, J3, J4 dan J5 dengan jurus dan kemiringan U60˚T/71˚, U287˚T/69˚, U0˚T/66˚, U110˚T/66˚ dan U305˚T/64˚. Satah kekar di mana air di dapati keluar adalah pada arah timur laut-barat daya dan barat laut-tenggara. Nilai oksigen terlarut (DO), jumlah pepejal terlarut (TDS) dan kekonduksian elektrik yang rendah berbanding sampel air telaga di kawasan industri mencirikan kualiti air di kawasan kajian adalah lebih baik.

Abstract: The study area comprises of outcrops between the Sungai Long Toll Plaza and the Bukit Kajang Toll Plaza. It is one of the popular water collection spots among the public due to its good taste. The research objective is to determine the pattern of fractures with water inflow and to identify the physical and chemical characteristics of the water. The types of rocks along the exposed cut slopes are coarse-grained granites and porphyritic coarse-grained biotite granite. Geological structures found in the study area are joints and faults. A discontinuity analysis on the six slopes show that there are five joint sets, namely, J1, J2, J3, J4 and J5 with strikes and dips N60˚E/71˚, N287˚E/69˚, N0˚E/66˚, N110˚E/66˚ and N305˚E/64˚ respectively. The fracture which the water flow from shows the same fracture pattern with the general discontinuities concentrated towards NE – SW and NW – SE. Low values of Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) and electrical conductivity compared to well water samples from industrial areas show that the water quality in the study area is much better.
